Blind box brands beyond POP MART.

The character houses behind the blind box market in Guangdong, China, and how B2B buyers should read a brand before ordering.

Wakuku ON A ROLL blind box series

One publisher is not the market

POP MART is the name everyone knows, and it is the one name we cannot source. The rest of the category is published by smaller houses, most of them producing in Guangdong, China.

Buyers who only shop by character name miss this. The useful question is not which character is trending. It is which house publishes it, and whether that house sells wholesale at all.

Letsvan and Wakuku

Letsvan is the design house behind Wakuku, one of the faster-rising blind box characters of the last two years. The education group QuantaSing holds a majority stake in the business.

Wakuku appears as plush, blind box figures and giftable charms. Series and packaging change often, so confirm the exact release before quoting.

SURE FUN and the Nommi family

SURE FUN publishes Nommi, Maymei and Heymi. The house is a joint venture involving TOP TOY and MINISO.

Its crossovers are worth understanding. The Nommi and Heymi release is an in-house crossover between two of its own characters, not a third-party licence, so it does not carry the licensing complexity buyers often assume.

Cureplaneta and the Baby Three family

Cureplaneta publishes the Baby Three family and its sibling characters, produced in Guangdong, China. Baby Three sits at the centre of a group of related characters rather than standing alone.

Family structures like this are common and easy to misread. A sibling character is not a separate brand, and mistaking one for the other leads to the wrong supplier conversation.

Read the house, then the character

Before you ask for a price, establish who publishes the character, whether the release you want is current, and whether it is a family member or a crossover.
